Reports in Spain suggest that manager Manuel Pellegrini is on the brink of the sack after Real Madrid were dumped out of the Champions League by Lyon.
Pellegrini was already under pressure; reports suggest he has lost the support of President Florentino Perez despite more than £200 million of summer investment.
La Liga leaders had tried to capture Arsene Wenger before appointing Pellegrini last summer and they are expected to renew their interest in the Frenchman if they do part ways with Pellegrini.

“Leave me alone, I am always going to stay to the end of my contract and I am going (to stay at Arsenal) until 2011; there is no way
